Lovespirals - This Truth.
This contest will allow you the opportunity to remix Lovespirals' new
single "This Truth." The best remix wins some great prizes and the
opportunity to be included on an upcoming Lovespirals remix digital EP and
remix collection CD.
Lovespirals began in late 1998 as an outgrowth of Love Spirals
Downwards, the renowned Projekt Records recording project of
multi-instrumentalist, Ryan Lum. Lum met sultry vocalist, Anji Bee,
during promotions for his groundbreaking 1998 CD, 'Flux.' Bee was then
working as a radio DJ and Music Director at a college radio station. The
two hit it off and soon began collaborating on drum 'n' bass and
downtempo remixes and singles.
Over the past decade, Lovespirals have explored myriad genres, combining
elements of electronica, rock, folk, jazz, blues, and world music to
create their own unique and sensual sound. To date, the band have
released 3 full-length albums; 'Windblown Kiss' (2002), 'Free & Easy'
(2005), 'Long Way From Home' (2007), 2 EPs; 'Ecstatic' (2000),
'Motherless Child' (2007), and numerous compilation tracks, including a
remix of Claire Voyant for their 1999 CD, 'Time Again.'
Lovespirals' music has been featured on MTV, VH1, E!TV, ABC, the EW
Network, and many other television and cable channels internationally.
Both Lovespirals' and Love Spirals Downwards' music is available on
iTunes, Rhapsody, Emusic, Amazon, CDBaby, and other online and in-store
retailers worldwide, as well as directly through the band at

At long last the band have settled on the winner and runner-up of the PLP Remix Contest for This Truth! We know that 60 some producers have been anxiously awaiting our decision since April 1st, and we’re sorry to have kept them on pins and needles, but we needed time to sort through and really listen to all of the entries. There were quite a few really good mixes — more than we even dreamed we’d get! We decided the best, most fun way to announce our faves would be with a podcast, sharing the music and our thoughts on the tracks. We hope that both the contest entrants and our podcast listeners will enjoy it. The remixes are presented in no particular order, except for the winner and runner-up; the runner-up is presented first and the winner is presented last. The grand prize is an 8 gig iPod Touch, a year’s subscription to the PLP Producers’ Vault, and all 3 Lovespirals CDs autographed by the band, plus inclusion on an upcoming remix EP and promotion via the Podsafe Music Network and other online music services. Thanks so much to all of the producers for their hard work and especially to DJ Puzzle of Peace Love Productions and SynthVox for throwing the contest for us!
