Using Protools To Produce Loops

Pro Tools HD Studio

Ah yes, the world renowned Pro Tools. Its an industry standard and found in almost every professional studio around the world. For $20k you can go to specialized technical schools for music production to become Pro Tools certified. It is a great program and has some serious history. The HD system is considered to be the best out there. I would not, however, recommend using it to edit loops. The problem is that Protools has to mixdown audio in real-time which means it will take the actual length of the selected audio region (or loop in this case) to process the audio and mix it down. This can be extremely time consuming! I recommend mixing all your tracks down from Pro Tools and then importing them into Logic Pro or something similar for editing.
